We are seeking a motivated Web Designer to assist in the design, production and maintenance of our client’s web properties. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years of experience designing and building web properties in a professional environment. Technical Skills & Experience
- Proficiency in the most current design and production tools (Photoshop CS+, Illustrator CS+, Dreamweaver, and etc.)
- Ability to Hand Code HTML / CSS
- In depth knowledge of usability/user experience, information architecture (designing from wireframes), web coding and design standards
- Must be prepared to present an up to date Web / Visual design portfolio
- Must be familiar with the standard concepts, practices and procedures of
graphic and web design (e.g. color theory, layout, typography, spacing and layout)
- Assures that each graphic element meets the job-appropriate specifications, including: Resolution, Color palette, Optimizing for the Web
- Create/hand-code new websites with pre-determined designs and specifications from our Creative Team
- Perform content maintenance, graphics production, and development of ongoing site features/functionality
- Format images, banners, online advertisements, landing pages and flash pieces as required
- Design the structure, caching methods and front-end functionality of interactive content ensuring stability, bandwidth efficiency and cross platform support
- Integrate and design ad-serving functionality into interactive properties
- Integrate the graphic design of a product with back-end functionality
- Assist in quality assurance testing including the development and execution of test plans
- Effectively balance creative requirements with business and technical requirements
- Work in a multidisciplinary team with copywriters, SEO specialists and web developers/programmers
Requirements:
- Minimum of 2 years of web design and development in a professional environment
- Proficient with current web authoring coding and design standards including XHTML, DHTML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP or ASP and Flash Action Script
- Deep understanding of Web 2.0 approach to HTML interfaces
- Generate clean and maintainable HTML code and CSS for all modern browsers
- Proven experience using graphics and web development tools, including Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, Dreamweaver and Flash
- Deliver sites / web pages that conform to W3C standards taking into account issues of accessibility and mobile devices
- Self-motivated, with the ability to handle multiple projects with tight deadlines in a fast-paced team environment
- Certificate or diploma in computer graphics or web programming or a related discipline is preferred
- Strong interpersonal and communications skills, including fluency in English
Additional Assets:
- Preference will be given to candidates who have previous work experience in an interactive agency environment
- Experience building & using Content Management Systems
- Experience building & using eCommerce websites
- Knowledge of search engine marketing, including natural search (SEO) and PPC campaigns
- Familiarity with content marketing strategy and social media
