An Evening with Brian Roman

On Wednesday November 24th 2010, Ravenshoe Group was very pleased to participate as a major sponsor in “An Evening with Brian Roman” gala event held at the Markham Theatre. This inaugural event was staged by the parents of Blessed John XXIII Catholic School in Unionville to raise funds to enhance the arts and technology programs for the students of the school. The parents and students often refer to their school as “the little school that can” and on this night they proved they certainly could, raising $35,000 to enhance the education experience at Blessed John XXIII.

Brian Roman is an outstanding Unionville entertainer who donated his time and efforts to the cause.

Mr. Roman entertained to a sold-out Markham Theatre with stirring renditions of songs across several decades including those of Frank Sinatra, Van Morrison, Elvis Presley and Neil Diamond to name just  a few. Brian was backed up with a terrific 5 piece band and vocal back-up was provided by the very talented “Sparklettes”, a powerful 3 woman singing group also from Unionville. This evening proved there really is a lot of artistic talent in Unionville.

Mr. Roman also took this opportunity to showcase his good friend Christopher Dallo who has  performed with David Foster and once you hear his outstanding tenor voice you can understand why he caught the attention of David Foster.

Brian provided another guest singer, Karen Nyman, who performed a terrific duet with him.

Standing ovations put an exclamation mark on a night of outstanding performances.

Congratulations are in order for Blessed John XXIII Gala Committee Members co-chaired by Allyson and Greg Cain. Committee members included Anna Baldassini, Julie Brunjes, Maria Catalanotto, Ce Sidio Cellucci, Celeste Cunha, Maricela Greenough, Peter Grossi, Grace Hluchan, Alicia Ho-Fat, Renee Jordan, Nella Monte,Brian Roman, Sandra Ventin and of course  the Cains. These were the people that made the night so amazing, who did all the organizing, who went out and got the corporate sponsors necessary to carry out such an event. These are the “movers and shakers” who made it all happen.

Speaking from a sponsors point of view our Markham based company of Ravenshoe Group was very pleased to participate in such a well run first class community event.
