Celebrate #GivingTuesday And Start Your Holiday Season Charitably

#GivingTuesday is a global movement for giving and volunteering, taking place each year after Black Friday. The “Opening day of the giving season,” it’s a time when charities, companies and individuals join together and rally for favourite causes. In the same way that retailers take part in Black Friday, the giving community comes together for GivingTuesday.

At Ravenshoe we believe that helping give back is so important, and before the holidays we go all out on a few of our important initiatives.

Markham Stouffville Hospital Buy A Bear

This is our newest initiative that we’ve started this year. We have partnered with The Markham Stouffville Hospital Foundation to donation match their Buy A Bear program.
For only $50 you can tuck a teddy bear under the arm of a patient at Markham Stouffville Hospital and help purchase life-saving equipment that government funding doesn’t cover.
If you’d like to donate you can buy a bear here.

Hampers of Hope

Each year around the holidays we set up bins in our front lobby and collect food and toys for those less fortunate. It’s a great way to give back to the local community. If you’d like to donate feel free to drop by the Ravenshoe building and drop in some canned goods or new toys.

 One Warm Coat

One in seven people in Canada live in poverty.  For these families and individuals, a warm coat is a budget extra they simply cannot afford. We are working with One Warm Coat to collect clean, gently used warm coats on. All donated coats will be given to a local agency for distribution to local children and adults in need. If you’d like to help you can drop off any coats at our office or visit https://www.onewarmcoat.org/ for other ways to help.

The holidays are a time to celebrate the year with friends and family and #GivingTuesday is a perfect way to join together and support these great causes.
